Fermilab music video hits the web

The Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland is (finally) up and running! While the folks over in Europe are busy celebrating, we thought we’d take this opportunity to pay homage to the ORIGINAL king of the particle accelerators; Fermilab in Batavia, IL, USA. Coors Light buys our spec commercial

Hey! You’ve seen those Coors Light commercials where regular dudes crash a press conference and ask NFL coaches questions about Coors Light, right? Well Coors wanted more of those commercials to play on the “Coors Light Channel” on Tivo so they posted some footage of some NFL coaches giving answers and they invited filmmakers to use the clips in their own, original ads. Haunts Against Hunger mini-doc

Way back in October I shot a mini-documentary for an ingenious event called Haunts Against Hunger.  Basically a bunch of very committed Halloween enthusiasts dress like zombies and hold a food drive.  The drive has grown nicely since it’s inception and now “home haunters” leave boxes in their front yards all month so people can drop off food.  As the video explains, they had a really successful drive this year. Harley Davidson buys our promo!

OMG! LOLcats musik video unleeshed on teh internetz!

It was exactly one year ago today, on July 12th, 2008 that Nerdcore rapper/producer Doctor Popular and I spent an afternoon in a garbage filled alley in San Francisco filming a music video for his song LOLcats. Youtube, we love you

Wow, well we hit kind of a mini-milestone today.  I checked the stats for Nerdcore For Life’s youtube channel and in total, all of the videos on our channel have racked up 1,500,120 views. Free Colorado NC4L Screening

A nerdcore fan at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO contacted me about two months ago and asked what it would take to make a screening and concert happen at his school. We Heart Amsterdam

We’re back! New Year’s Resolutions

Mercifully, 2008 is over and the new year is here.  2008 might have been kind of tough for the world in general but it was actually a really good year for Nerdcore For Life; we played in lots of great festivals, had sold out screenings, got lots of good press, got some sweet reviews and held some really awesome parties and concerts.  But all that was a warm up for 2009.  I get a lot of questions about where and when people can see the film and those questions can be answered... [Read more...]

Glitched: The Dutch Nerdcore Event

After waiting to talk about this for about 2 months I think planning is far enough along that we can announce this: Nerdcore For Life and the Dutch web company, 4Worx are teaming up to present the first European Nerdcore Extravaganza-  GLITCHED:  THE DUTCH NERDCORE EVENT. New Orleans Film Fest Mini-Recap

You can tell I’m starting to get a little worn out just by the fact that blog recaps of each of our screenings get shorter and shorter as time goes on.  For the premiere I wrote a small book of a re-cap, took a few thousand photos and filmed everything.  Six months later I return from a film fest with less than a dozen pictures in my camera, no video and zero hilarious stories of drunken, celebratory exuberance. Sweet pwn Chicago

What was really amazing about the Chicago screening was the local press it generated for us.  I got to do my second public radio interview and this time it was for the Chicago Public Radio show, Eight Forty-Eight.  It went great and the producer mixed some music and quotes from the film into the final segment.  It turned out awesome.  The podcasted version of the piece is on-line and you can hear it by clicking RIGHT HERE. I checked Nerdcore For Life’s myspace page today and found a comment from one of the groups that appear in the documentary, The Krondor Krew: “Wired.com top story on Google feeds today, and Wired’s front page.
