Headed by producer/director Dan Lamoureux, Crapbot Productions has had its award-winning work seen by millions of viewers around the world and covered by media outlets such as Newsweek Magazine, The New York Times, NPR and MTV.

Our company is dedicated to producing, shooting and editing unusual and memorable projects.  We are based in Chicagoland but in the last 4 years, our team has filmed its way across North America.  We specialize in documentary features and shorts, concert and event films, music videos and content and commercials for the web.  Crapbot Productions’ best known project is the feature-length documentary, Nerdcore For Life.

Nerdcore For Life profiles the fascinating and tumultuous world of Nerdcore Hip-Hop. Born on the internet, ‘geek rap’ is breaking out into the real world at a lightning pace. Filmed over the course of two years, the documentary follows the top names in this new genre as they celebrate ‘Geek Life’ and their love of hip-hop, fight anti-nerd stereotypes and attempt to overcome the common obstacles that block musicians of all genres from fulfilling their dreams.

Nerdcore For Life premiered in the spring of 2008 to a sold out crowd at the Wisconsin Film festival.  It went on to screen at the Seattle True Independent Film Fest, The Philadelphia Independent film festival, The Tucson Film and Music fest, the San Francisco Frozen Film Festival and the New Orleans Film Festival.  The project has received worldwide press attention and to date, the documentary’s trailer and clips from the film have been watched more than 1.5 million times on youtube alone.
